Before any horse or pony is offered for sale, they become part of our family and undergo an extensive and thoughtful process to ensure they are safe, sound, and ready for their new homes. This isn't just a checklist for us; it's a commitment to their well-being and your future success together. We only offer equines that meet our high standards for quality.
- Comprehensive Evaluation: Each horse is carefully assessed for temperament, ground manners, and existing training. We spend significant time handling, grooming, riding, and training them to understand their individual personalities and ensure they’ll be the right fit for their new homes.
- Tailored Training & Desensitization: Our horses experience a variety of situations and stimuli. We work on building their confidence, responsiveness to aids, and overall rideability. This includes exposure to trails, obstacles, different environments, and interaction with children and other animals where appropriate. You'll often see our own kids riding the ponies all over the ranch – through water, over obstacles, and around the barrels. It's the best real-world test of their gentle nature and reliability!
- Thorough Testing: We believe in "real-world" testing. Our horses are ridden by various members of our family and trusted, experienced riders to gauge their suitability for different skill levels. We document their behavior in the arena, on trails, and during everyday handling.
- Veterinary Health Check: Your peace of mind is paramount. Every horse undergoes a pre-purchase veterinary lameness examination by an independent, reputable equine veterinarian. This includes a general health assessment, soundness check, and basic flexion tests. We only offer sound horses and are happy to share these vet reports with serious potential buyers.
- Up-to-Date Care: All our sale horses are current on vaccinations, deworming, dental care, and farrier work. They are healthy, happy, and ready to transition smoothly to their new homes.
